Organizing in Tech

I was a member of both Unite the Union and UTAW, and an elected representative for Unite the Union (Tech branch, Google UK).  I strongly believe that tech workers can and should organize to make this industry a better place for all. 

I gave a talk at the seminar organized by Unite in 2023-2024 on "What should we build AI for?". In this lecture, I cover the basics of ML, I explain what questions and problems scientists and engineers in the field are tackling, but I also come back on how siloed and anonymized this process can feel as a tech worker. I share my experience through 2 major tech companies (Amazon in Berlin and Google (Deepmind) in London), and now as an academic researcher.
